a short film by JUAN PABLO ZARAMELLA

IN DEVELOPMENT:

The project

ANAMORFIA is an experimental short film in development that combines animation with contemporary dance. The idea is to create an audiovisual piece using a technique called pixilation (stop-motion animation with real people), combined with the physical and expressive possibilities of the human body—bringing both disciplines to an unprecedented and innovative space.
The central themes to be explored are survival, adaptation, identity, and the search for balance in evolution.
One of the main goals is to generate a strong connection between the technical and narrative aspects. For this reason, the initial stage of experimentation is proving to be essential and intrinsically tied to the final writing of the project.

The core theme of the film is the adaptation and transformation of living beings—the tension between survival and curiosity (which often puts survival at risk), and the relationship between the body and its environment, where interaction can lead to mutation, sometimes even to becoming something entirely new.
All of these ideas arise from the physical and metaphorical possibilities we are already discovering through the proposed technical fusion.
